Though it can be almost impossible for the first time, or even the 12th attempt., with the right tools, right technique and right experience the tricky aspects of re-assembling the cassette with spring loaded mechanisms can be done quickly and affordably.

	Tools of the trade

The tools are not high tech, but the skill is. We use Phillips precision tools and a special tool, shown top, with a claw for grabbing and holding parts. Oil is used in one key spot and in ultra tiny amounts to help reduce vibration.
